When water or any liquid substance cools in temperature potential energy is reduced causing the hydrogen molecules to bond together and move slower. Once the temperature reaches Zero degrees Celsius, the bonding of the hydrogen molecules become so tight; they literally form solid ice. Solid Ice Cubes means the hydrogen molecules have come to a complete halt. When your CUP is COLD with Ice Cubes,God is sending the message, To Chill and Stand Still. Collect Sticks as God is about to put some things on Ice!
The Lord teaches us to “Be still and know that I Am God” (Proverbs 46:10). Your Ice Cubes list includes worries, troubles, concerns, monumental task, and overwhelming situations which all point to one thing, Control. Ask yourself who is in control? Can you add length to a day? Can you number the hairs on your head? Can you perform anything; and this includes breathing, without God? The Answer to each of these questions, is NO. So put all these things on ICE! Your COLD CUP is saying, Collect Sticks and enter in a famine from holding on to your Remote Control and accept that God is, and will always be in Control. Jesus reminds us in John 14:13that we are to “ask” for what we desire. However, Jesus connects “asking” with a condition, it must be in His Name for Him to respond. As we move within our daily lives, we often perceive within the figment of our imaginative mindset, that we are asking Jesus to address these anxiety level situations, but in reality, we have not hit the “pause” button on our Remote Control. This pause button is the signal to Chill and Stand Still. When we “halt” from engaging in menial strategies and ask the Lord to perform His work in us, He does! We must let go and let God! Chill and Stand Still!
In the book of Esther (ch4),the Jews are sentenced to complete destruction by King Ahasuerus through an evil and wicked scheme crafted by Haman (the King’s Principal Minister) who hated Mordecai (a Jew). Upon hearing of this mass destruction, the Jews become worried, troubled, concerned, perplexed, and overwhelmed by their upcoming anticipated fate. Queen Esther tells Mordecai and all of the Jews to enter into a fast from eating and drinking for 3 full days and 3 full nights as she prepares to take her petition to the King to reveal the scheme of Haman. During these fasting days, in the midst of it all, the Jews literally transition to a halt just by hitting the “pause” button. They allow the Lord to do what He does, when His Children lay low, let go, and let God! The Jews relinquish their own strategies and witness The Lord bring all of their cares to a complete halt! They Chilled and Stood Still!
In every dilemma we face, Jesus is waiting for you to Chill and stop attempting to “help” Him perform what He is in Control of from the onset. So, take a moment and hit your “pause” button, get on your knees, humble yourself before God, seek His face, repent of your self-control prideful mind, and yield to God’s Control by “trusting” that God Loves You and knows what is best for You. Your cares are nothing but tares, they are toxic to your health, damaging to your mental psyche, and destructive to your soul. Embrace your COLD CUP of Ice Cubes and Collect Sticks as you Chill and Stand Still. Believe and trust in The Lord’s promises, hit the “pause” button on your Remote Control and place all your cares on Ice!
