While it’s sometimes tempting to be a lone ranger and an independent person, the wise leader understands the significance of a solid support system. Not only does wisdom know about a support system, wisdom uses that support system effectively. If you rely only on yourself you are limited; you are your only resource. Independent leaders may be surrounded by people but refuse to rely on others. In fact, people typically don’t assist independent leaders because they look like they can handle it all alone. If you send the signal that you don’t need help, then others will receive it accordingly. While I applaud that you can do it alone, always remember that if you can do a task, you will always have a job. But if you know why the task must be tackled, then you can delegate it to others to work for or with you!
Scripture: Exodus 18:17-18
Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.
Prayer: Wonderful God, thank you for giving me the ability to be able to understand the significance of having a team. Thank you for giving me the ability to recognize that I need others to achieve the goals that you have given. In Jesus Name. Amen.
