When our CUP has a SWEET taste, the type of sweetener and the source determines our reaction. Nectar is a sweet substance produced by flowers to attract pollinators such as hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies to ensure the floral plant produces seeds for more flowers to grow. Your Nectar sweetened CUP is sending a significant message, that God’s Grace and Favor is upon you! Prepare to Share! Collect Stones and remain thankful and humble as He sends others (pollinators) to you for you to share the sweetness of your Nectar filled CUP.
When Jesus walked the earth, He had a multitude of sinners, the lame, the blind, the sick, the possessed, and even the relatives of the dead all seeking Him for healing and restoration. These multitudes (pollinators) flocked Him to taste the sweetness of HIS WORD…”Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”(Psalm34:8).
Your pollinators may have hurt you in the past because of their sting (the bee), they may need you more frequently because they are adjusting to their new spiritual transformation (the butterfly), or they may scarcely visit, call, or connect with you (the hummingbird), but a Nectar Sweet CUP calls for us to be used by God to share the sweetness of Jesus Christ (The Word). Recall how the Lord used Aquila and Priscilla to explain to Apollos ‘..the way of God more accurately..”(Acts 18:26). They were both prepared to share; and did so discreetly, as they took Apollos aside after hearing him speak boldly in the synagogue only knowing the baptism of John. Apollos (the pollinator) was blessed by the sharing of Aquila and Priscilla; acquiring the knowledge from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ! The conversion of Apollos, being a Greek, ensured the growth of the seed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Greece. Yes, when God blesses us with a Nectar filled CUP, “Oh how sweet it is..!
God’s Grace and Favor is all smiles, happiness, laughter, joy, and in all senses of the word, pure jubilee! The Lord sees his Nectar filled children performing work in their faith, and this is pleasing to Him! Psalms 37 says, ..”delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Spreading the good news to set the captives free and share the full life of Jesus Christ by Faith is a sweet delight for any Christian! The Lord’s love is consistently evident when our CUP is filled with Nectar. He has chosen you to draw others to HIM. This GRACE and FAVOR comes from nothing we have earned; it is simply God letting us know that He has chosen you for a work to share.
So as you prepare to share the goodness of the Lord, Collect stones. Why stones? To slay your flesh that wants to be gratified in the sweetness of your Nectar CUP and not embrace the Spiritual work of preparing for the pollinators that God will send your way! The reaping of a useful and bountiful harvest awaits our LORD when He returns. As the song writer notes; Amazing Grace how Sweet the Sound! Prepare, here comes the pollinators.
