Celebrating the new and shedding the old is a well known “New Year’s resolution. Naturally, we all make changes in our lives and our routines as we learn better and more efficient methods to manage our Christian lifestyle. However, when your CUP is flavored with Wine, your attention is called to examine the skin you are in. Yes, the skin is your fleshly nature that draws all fleshly desirables to surface and weighs heavy on your ability to transition into the Radiant Star God has planned for YOU!. Collect stones as you make every attempt to lay aside every weight that so easily besets you, (Hebrews 12) and prevents the Radiance of your heart from shining through. Prepare to battle those desirables!
Wine is known for variance of taste and quality of the fermenting process. As an ancient complimentary beverage, wine boast several methods for critiquing including, balance, intensity of flavor, typicity, clarity, and finish. However, the taste and quality of Wine is compromised by the type of container; barrel, bottle, decanter, clay, and skins. Yes, skins! The LORD teaches us in Luke Chapter 5 that if new wine is placed in old wine skins, the skins will burst; destroying both the wine and the skins. In hopes of celebrating the new “YOU”, the radiance of your new heart must clearly be seen. The LORD makes us anew by developing the virtues of the Holy Spirit within us. Love, Joy, Peace, Faith, Longsuffering, Meekness, Gentleness, Goodness, and Temperance removes all those deadly fleshly desirables which dim our light. These virtues are the New Wine within us, and once we are filled with the Holy Spirit, the radiance of our new Skin will Glow for the world to see.
We all know what new Skin feels like. Whether a fresh clean shave or a facial; removing unwanted hair, exfoliating, buffing, or mask peeling, each of these deep cleansing methods remove dead weighty skin cells and reveal a glowing radiant complexion! Your Wine flavored CUP is saying “Drop off the dead things in your life”; miniscule projects, lying tongues, hatred, prideful attitude, selfish indulging, and anything that prevents your Glowing Radiant Beautiful Self from shining brightly! You are the RADIANT STAR God created to guide the lost to JESUS CHRIST! Remember the day of HIS birth, it was a Bright Shining Star that guided the humbled shepherds and the three kings to the Holy Savior, Jesus Christ.
Oh, the skin we are in is waiting to be that Glowing Christian Disciple Christ described as a city set on a hill. (Matthew 5) Collect stones, battle those fleshly desirables, and start SHINING!
