When our CUP contains an extremely Hot beverage, it is a common practice to “Sip”the contents. Sipping a beverage is performed by taking in small amounts at a given time. During this gingerly process, the amount of time it takes to consume the entire CUP takes longer than gulping or drinking. Sipping enables the consumer to enjoy the “taste” of the beverage while the temperature is extremely HOT. Your extremely HOT CUP beverage is sending the message that God wants you to “taste” His Word and meditate long enough to “perform” the life His Word brings to everyone who will receive it and take it in! Collect Stones as you prepare to battle against the notion to let your HOT CUP drop (or Dip) in temperature before consuming. The “taste”is in the heated temperature and the performance will come through meditating while sipping. Sip on, the heat is on!
In our Spiritual walk with Christ, his teachings reflect the importance of taking in His Word and meditating for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. The way we demonstrate our wisdom, is in what we do and say. Recall Jesus said, we must not just be hearers only of the Word, but doers also [James 1:22]. Hearing and Doing are coupled together to create the wonderful life God desires to bring forward through your vessel. Life to a career, Life to a troubled marriage, Life to a business venture, Life to broken family ties, Life to hidden talents, Life to a diseased body. Whatever the area, God wants you to know, to Sip on His Word, Taste it, and Perform it.
The Lord teaches us that taking time to do things with wisdom will always result in a bountiful reward. […The plans of the diligent tend surely to plenty, but of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. Proverbs 21:5]. When we taste God’s Word, this is our knowledge, but when the taste is coupled with an extremely HOT temperature, this means the heat is on to Perform It! Embrace your extremely HOT CUP. Do not be deceived by allowing it to “Cool” down or Dip in temperature, as this will not yield the results the Lord desires to bring life to. Collect Stones and Sip it, Taste it, and Perform it!
The Lord has a desire for us to live an abundant life. This means every innate talent, Spiritual gift and human relationship we have should be producing edible fruit for those connected to us to consume. Yes, your performance in the Holy Word of God will provide life for others around you as well. You will truly be …like a tree which is planted by the Rivers of Water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. [Psalm 1:3 ] Sip on, the heat is on!
…But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James1:4
